Mylie-isms for July
Saturday, July 1 Because Mommy & Daddy didn't get to celebrate their
anniversary earlier this week, they decided to go out to eat. Mylie got to
go with new babysitters, Terry & Christina Fritsch. They had a great time,
and Mylie got to go all sorts of places with them. It was good practice for
them for when they have their own kids someday soon! Mommy and Daddy feel
really fortunate that Mylie is such and easy going baby/toddler and will
easily go with people who she has only met a few times. It sure makes it
easy on us. Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner at Anthony's Restaurant, and
then up to Seattle to a comedy club. It was a nice evening together and we
really enjoyed it.
Sunday, July 2 One of our cars is in the shop now, so we all had to ride
together to church today, which meant that Mommy & Mylie had to go an hour
and a half earlier than usual. That also meant that Mylie didn't get a nap OR
lunch before hand (church usually starts at 12:30 for us). It didn't take
Mommy long to realize just how bad of an idea this was. By the end of church,
at 3:45 we were ALL worn out!
Monday, July 3 Daddy gets ANOTHER two days off because of the upcoming
holiday (which makes a total of...count 'em...SIX!). We get three weekends
in a row! Today we went to Mylie's very first swim lesson in the morning, and
Daddy got to participate with her, which was very fun for him. And Mommy got
a chance to take pictures, which can be seen in Mylie's Photo Album. The rest
of the day, Mommy and Daddy spent in major organizing/deep cleaning mode around
the house, and once Mylie woke up from her nap, we carted her all around the town
runnin errands. We intruded a little on her dinner time, so she got pretty fussy
by the end, so while we were running around Fred Meyer, we had to break into all
the groceries we were buying so that Mylie could snack.
Tuesday, July 4 Happy Independence Day! And Mylie is definitely getting
more independent every day! She is beginning to "talk" where she'll babble,
but it sounds like she's speaking in full sentences. This morning when she
woke up, we brought her into bed with us. She was sitting there talking and
being really cute, so Mommy said, "You're so adorable!" Without skipping a
beat, Mylie nodded her head and with a matter-of-fact look on her face said,
"Yes," as plain as day. Of course, we couldn't get her to do it again after that.
To celebrate we went over to the Perkins for a BBQ,
where Mylie had a great time climbing up and down their stairs to their deck.
Mommy and Daddy got tired of wrangling her, but luckily we had lots of people who
love to play with Mylie to take her up and down, up and down. We didn't watch
the fireworks today, because by 8:00, Mylie was done. So we put her to bed and
Mommy & Daddy watched a movie instead.
Wednesday, July 5 We had Mylie's second swimming lesson today, but
the record heat of last week is a distant memory. When we got to the pool,
the temperature was hanging right around 63 degrees. Not too bad, until
you get wet and the breeze hits! The poor babies lips were all turning blue
and they were all shivering terribly by the time class was over. We ran in
to the locker room to take a hot shower and get tried off. Luckily, Mommy
had brought Mylie's sweatsuit, but it still took her a good half hour to get
warmed up again. It is supposed to be colder tomorrow! If it is, we won't
be going to class! Hopefully it will warm up for next week.
